Since 2019, I have been attending the Congress For Future Medical Leaders – a conference in Boston, Massachusetts. At the Congress, I was grateful to meet Nobel Peace Prize winners, leaders in medicine, and medical school deans.
In addition to meeting so many leaders in medicine and science, I also volunteered and took part in the organizational aspects of the conference and supported the team behind the scenes.
Being a summer camp counselor was one of the most rewarding experiences of the year, because I stepped into role of a mentor as I helped support and supervise campers.

Every spring, BAStA has a lobby day where students from around the bay area give speeches to members and representatives of Congress, and lobby on a variety of topics. In 2019, we focused on bills concerning gun control, and prepared presentations for each representative we talked to. I was able to learn about the many different bills about gun control, as well as how to be an effective lobbyist. This was a major moment in my life because I was able to speak up and use my voice to fight for issues I care about.
In August of 2014, I was featured in the summer issue of American Girl Magazine.
I was interviewed for a two-page spread and they also modeled one of their dolls after me, which was such a nice surprise! The American Girl team invited me to visit several of their locations including San Francisco and Dallas, Texas. I did book-signings and met with young kids who were interested in becoming authors like me. I can honestly say that this was one of the most rewarding experiences of my life, because I had a chance to connect with future young authors.
